No Matter How Short, Every Life Has A Purpose.

Our granddaughter Niesha was a loving, kind, and very compassionate, beautiful girl. She delighted in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time with her family, her three best friends, and her cat, Nakita. She enjoyed arts and crafts, playing card games, and eating pizza. Music was a big part of her. She loved people and people loved her. Many often told us “We love having a visit with Niesha, it is like a breath of fresh air”. She was our little self-appointed peacekeeper.

In the autumn of 2018, at age 15, Niesha was faced with the grim diagnosis of a rare, terminal cancer at Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, ON. She passed away 13 months later after a battle “bravely fought”. In the wake of our family’s devastating loss, the ‘Niesh Hair-Scarf Wig’ was conceived and born as an antidote to grief, in the hope that it would help other women and girls coping with hair loss due to cancer treatment. Such a gift would have helped Niesha. And she would have loved leaving such a legacy. Putting a smile on someone’s face who is going through unimaginable trials is our way of honouring Niesha.

We helplessly watched our beloved Niesha go through unimaginable pain and suffering. She tried hard to brave every treatment and endured all the other painful side effects that came with the cancer treatment, including losing her hair. “O” how she cried for her hair, reminding us of the statement we have all heard before: “Hair is a woman’s pride”. Finding a comfortable hairpiece should never be another daunting task anyone fighting cancer has to face.

To sustain the project, we have adopted the “Buy One, Give One” policy. Every ‘Niesh Hair-Scarf Wig’ we sell enables us to donate one to a cancer patient.

All wigs and scarves donated to us used or new, will be used to create The ‘Niesh Hair-Scarf Wigs’ that we, in turn, donate to cancer patients in treatment on the purchaser’s behalf. Wig rooms that donate wigs and scarves to Niesh’s World have the option to have all The ‘Niesh Hair-Scarf Wigs' we make from the materials they donate sent back to them to serve their communities.
